Shabbat
Shabbat
9:30am
B’nai Shalom's culture of prayer is traditional yet informal, with congregants leading many portions of the service. No matter how you identify, adults, as well as B’nai Mitzvah students, are honored with aliyot, lead davening, and chant Torah and Haftarah. Rabbi Tobin's teaching from the bimah is interactive and always thought-provoking. We conclude Shabbat services with our religious school students leading us in the concluding prayers. Children of all ages are always welcome. Our Shabbat services are followed by a full Kiddush luncheon - a favorite occasion to make new friends, kibbitz with old friends, criticize (or compliment) the tuna salad, and connect with our warm community.
Shabbat Services for Children
10:00am – 12:00pm
Our Hebrew school children partake in their own weekly Shabbat morning service. There, they hone their skills in learning and leading prayers. They join the main service at the end of every Shabbat where they beam with pride in leading the concluding prayers.
Tefillah Tot Shabbat
11:00am – 12:00pm
Once a month the Rabbi steps away from the main Shabbat service, sits on the floor and joins Morah Amy and our youngest members to sing Shabbat songs, relevant holiday songs, bang on drums, dance like a tree, read stories, and instill the foundations of a meaningful Jewish life.
